Kraig Harper of Service Express Named 2016 CFO of the Year

Grand Rapids, MI – MiBiz, along with the West Michigan chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI), announced that Kraig Harper, Chief Financial Officer at Service Express, has been named CFO of the Year.

Kraig joined Service Express as CFO in 1998 helping to oversee Service Express’s double-digit annual revenue growth and the implementation of Service Express’s performance measurement system. This system has encouraged growth for employees and for the company. During Kraig’s tenure, Service Express revenue has grown on an average of 17% and his leadership style of emphasizing input and consensus has produced positive results for Service Express.

“What makes Kraig such a great Chief Financial Officer is that he doesn’t just look at the numbers,” states Ron Alvesteffer, President of Service Express. “He looks for the stories that the numbers are telling. He believes that numbers are indicators of bigger things and he helps others to see the bigger vision.”

Kraig currently serves as Treasurer and Board Member for the West Michigan Chapter of ACG (Association for Corporate Growth).

MiBiz and the local chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) host the first-ever CFO of the Year Awards in West Michigan. They will recognize each executive from the following categories: Corporation, Middle Market, Small Business, and Nonprofit/Government Organizations. Winners and finalists will be honored during dinner on June 11th at the Goei Center in Grand Rapids, MI. Following dinner, all winners will be invited up front for a panel discussion about the challenges they’ve faced in the past year, best business practices, and any pain points they may have as we head into the remainder of 2013.
