The Director of Sales – Managed Services & Hardware, is responsible for directing Sales Managers. Tasked with leading teams engaged in the sales of Service Express’ suite of Managed Services, as well as both new and refurbished hardware. These teams sell in an overlay capacity and go to market through our teams of existing Account Managers. As such, they are viewed as Sales Consultant’s, and supported by robust team of Presale’s Engineers and built teams.

This role has responsibility for developing and executing sales strategies, plans, programs and systems, both short and long range, to ensure achievement the achievement of Company objectives. The Director of Sales is keenly aware of organizational growth initiatives related to regional markets and target customer segments, as well as the Company’s potential to meet customer needs with a product or service.

 

Here’s what this position is all about:

  • Developing and executing sales strategies, plans, programs and systems, both short and long range, to ensure the achievement of Company objectives.
  • Driving revenue in the assigned geographic regions of Managed Services and Hardware within the existing customer base of Service Express and new prospects to ensure that goals are achieved.
  • Promote maximum utilization of CRM as a resource to drive success including timely and accurate data, forecasting and reporting on analytics.
  • Engage in sound business practices daily by proactively measuring all decisions against the company’s four core objectives: Excellent Customer Service, Employee Engagement, Margin Retention & Growth and Revenue Growth.
  • Determine and monitor Sales Manager’s key performance indicators such as revenue vs. plan, contract rate, quote closure rate, new business, key activities and gross profit percentage.
  • Oversee the hiring and development of the sales organization; ensure proper sales staffing and pipeline; analyze staffing levels and project hiring trends to ensure proactive hiring needs; partner with Talent Acquisition team to ensure adequate staffing in each office and region.
  • Participate in sales meetings, weekly strategy calls and weekly huddles to ensure communication of pertinent top down information, status updates and engagement. 
  • Assist with complex sales negotiations and attend sales presentations to help close deals.
  • Guide Sales Manager’s and sales team on customer strategies, customer service and Service Express offerings that best meet the customer need. 

 

What we are hoping you can bring to the Service Express team:

  • Experience in Sales Director or equivalent role preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of responsibility 
  • Experience leading teams selling IT solutions or services such as, Managed Services, Cloud Services, External storage, Virtual Tape Libraries, or Security preferred 
  • Experience leading teams selling Power Systems and IBM i products and services preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels
