Q: What’s the difference between recertified and refurbished hardware?

Recertified equipment comes from the OEM through its “renew” divisions and programs (HPE Renew, Cisco Excess, etc.). Recertified equipment is often an unused customer return the OEM is unable to resell as “new” and overstock. This hardware typically arrives in OEM packaging and includes an OEM warranty. Refurbished hardware is sourced through IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) services or a trusted vendor network. This equipment has been graded, tested, wiped and updated according to our multi-point inspection standards. Refurbished hardware doesn’t include an OEM warranty, but we often bundle solutions with our Data Centre Maintenance support.

Q: What quality assurance standards do you have in place?

All hardware is sent to our Technical Centre, where it’s graded, tested, wiped, updated, built, configured, packaged, etc. Our practice is to test hardware in an environment similar to our customer’s, ensuring everything is up and running and properly configured.

Q: How do you source hardware?

Our data centre hardware comes from our IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) services and over 300+ trusted partners in our vendor network. Every piece of hardware and system we build undergoes a multi-point inspection and rigorous testing process.

Q: What is the lead time for data centre hardware?

The lead time varies depending on the urgency and size of the project. The average turnaround time for delivery is two weeks after the purchase order. Contact our team for an accurate estimate.

Service Express has made it easier for us to keep our legacy hardware past the OEM support contract. When it comes time to renew most of our purchases we usually check first with Service Express to see if they can cover it. Once implemented, we have found their engineers and inventory more than adequate to meet our day to day needs for support.

The transition to ServiceExpress was seamless. Once everything was onboarded, support continued as it should with no interruptions. Service delivery has been top notch, with minimal extensions past SLAs. The account team has been upfront with any issues that developed and track down the root cause and made corrections to make sure there was a low likelihood of a similar instance occurring. I highly recommend them for Third-Party maintenance.
