You may be interested in the Field Service Technician position that we have available! It’s an opportunity to join a team that meets the 24/7 data center maintenance needs of local customers with a focus on delivering exceptional service with each interaction.
This role requires driving to different customer sites within a 160-km range of the Markham, ON area for assigned service calls. You will use your own vehicle and be reimbursed for travel expenses. Additionally, you’ll also participate in periodic training and occasional out-of-state travel.
What you’ll do:
Customer Service
- Perform maintenance and repairs on data center hardware, including mid-to-high-end servers and storage devices
- Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Provide exceptional service by responding quickly and efficiently to customer needs
- Communicate with confidence to ensure customers feel supported and their concerns are addressed
- Identify and proactively escalate potential technical issues
- Assist with data center relocations and inventory audits
Technical Knowledge
- Interpret maintenance manuals and collaborate with engineers to resolve complex issues
- Troubleshoot technical problems efficiently while managing multiple tasks
- Stay updated on industry advancements through training and certification programs
- Serve as a technical expert during sales calls when needed
- Document and share resolutions to improve team knowledge and efficiency
Account Management
- Prepare thorough audits and maintain documentation of service calls
- Proactively analyze and prepare for service calls to ensure quick and effective solutions
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, expenses, and customer interactions
- Collaborate with internal teams including purchasing, operations, and sales
What we’re looking for:
- Strong troubleshooting skills with at least a basic knowledge of computer hardware
- Availability for on-call rotation to support customer needs
- Prior field service experience is a plus but not required
- A+ and/or Server Plus certifications preferred but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching
