Data Centre Hardware FAQ

We offer both current and previous generation data centre hardware. Our server, storage and network options include new OEM, factory recertified/renewed and refurbished. We continue to support and sell equipment as old as DEC VAX to current generation equipment and anything in between.

As a VMware Enterprise Solutions Provider, we offer VSAN in place of home-built hyperconverged solutions such as Nutanix, VxRail, Hyperflex, SimpliVity, etc. These platforms utilise VSAN as a layer to their hyperconverged OS, so this option can be just as effective but less expensive. You then have the flexibility to select any major intel or AMD server brand for the solution.

Many OEMs have their own term for what they consider “Factory Recertified” equipment (Dell Recertified, HPE Renew, Cisco Excess, etc.) These servers are typically factory overstock or an unused return. The server was initially built and configured by the OEM, but once it’s customised or leaves the factory, it can no longer be considered OEM new. In some cases, these systems come with a base OEM Next Business Day (NBD) warranty, which is eligible for uplifted Service Express support to a higher Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Refurbished means a used server has been reconfigured, re-tested and re-updated according to our stringent testing standards. The difference between a refurbished solution and an OEM recertified solution is the eligibility for OEM support. Refurbished systems are no longer eligible for OEM coverage, although many of these systems have open-source firmware and software updates. All of our refurbished hardware solutions can be supported using one of our many maintenance coverage options.

High-quality refurbished and recertified options align with our commitment to providing sustainable solutions to IT professionals worldwide.

Strengthening cyber resilience to meet Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) policies

No business is free of cyber threats, or physical threats to systems or buildings, that could affect a business’s technology. With increasing risk to businesses, the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) set the deadline for earlier this year, March 2022, for institutions under their regulation to identify their important business services and define and outline their impact tolerances.
